Assessing Predictive Confidence in Strategic Outcomes

Critique the following statement: 'As long as we can predict the outcome of a strategic interaction, the basis for that prediction doesn't matter for our confidence in it.' In your response, contrast a situation where a player's best action is constant regardless of their rival's moves with a situation where a player's best action is contingent on their rival's moves. Explain why one of these situations leads to a more reliable prediction than the other.
