Association with Inability to Afford Medication

A study conducted on a group of rural patients with chronic disease found that 53% of the patients tested positive for depression. Of the 53%, more than half of these individuals were unable to afford their medication within the past year. These findings suggest that depression is positively correlated with the inability to pay for medication.
