Attar's Portrayal of Khwaja Sa'd al-Din Abul-Fazl as a Spiritual Qutb in Khosrow Nameh
In this section of the Khosrow Nameh, Farid al-Din Attar extols Khwaja Sa'd al-Din Abul-Fazl by elevating his status from a worldly administrative figure to a supreme mystical guide. Attar compares the Khwaja's renunciation of ministerial power to Ibrahim ibn Adham's legendary abandonment of his kingdom. He designates him as the spiritual axis or Qutb of the saints (qutb al-awliya), asserting that other ranks of the Sufi spiritual hierarchy, such as the Awtad and Abdal, receive their mystical unveilings (kashf-i hal) through his spiritual influence.
