Concept
Bacterial Meningitis
Bacterial meningitis is a very serious infection of the meninges caused by bacteria entering the central nervous system. Bacteria can enter from the nose, mouth, ears or from prior traumas. Unlike viral meningitis which often heals on its own, this condition requires prompt medical treatment to prevent severe consequences.
