Balancing Workload with Capacity Planning

A dispatch board should show each technician’s scheduled hours alongside the hours still available so the dispatcher can quickly judge whether there is room for more work or whether the team is already stretched. Capacity planning is the process of setting the man-hour limits a company can handle for different job types and seasons. If too many hours are booked, technicians can become overloaded and arrive late; if too few hours are booked, the business loses revenue. Watching this balance helps the dispatcher decide whether to accept a new request or hold it for later.
