Bank Liquidity and Withdrawal Demands

A commercial bank has the following simplified balance sheet: It holds $20 million in cash reserves and has $80 million in outstanding loans to businesses. Its only liability is $100 million in deposits from its customers, which can be withdrawn on demand. Explain the fundamental problem the bank would face if all depositors attempted to withdraw their money at the same time.
