Bioanthropology Reference 

Bioarchaeology (US)

Study of all biological (human and animal) remains. Recently, bioarchaeology has included plant remains.

Bioarcheology (Europe)

An archaeological study that is defined in Europe as focusing solely on human skeletal remains similar to bioarchaeology's definition in the United States. 

Osteoarcheology

Specializes in search and recovery by using archaeological methods to investigate crime scenes, determine potential gravesites, and identify evidence or reconstruct crime scenes. 

Forensic Archaeology 

Primatology is the study of the anatomy, behavior, ecology, and genetics of living and extinct nonhuman primates. 

Primatology

Paleoanthropology studies human ancestors from the distant past and their evolution. The focus of this subdiscipline is to understand the early development of modern humans, or hominization, through the reconstruction of evolutionary kinship within the family Hominidae. Anthropologists study biological evidence, including skeletal remains, bone fragments, and footprints. They also study cultural evidence, for instance, stone tools, artifacts, and settlements. 

Paleoanthropology

Molecular Anthropology studies molecular techniques to understand human evolution and how human biology is impacted by their environment, nutrition, and culture. These anthropologists also examine and compare evolutionary traits between ancient and modern humans and hominin ancestors.
