BMI Weight Classifications
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Body Mass Index (BMI) classifies adult weight into specific categories. A BMI between 25 and 29.9 indicates an individual is overweight, a BMI of 30 or higher is classified as obese, and a BMI over 40 indicates severe obesity, which carries a risk of death.
