Bulimia Nervosa Compensatory Behaviors

To counteract binge eating, individuals with bulimia nervosa employ various compensatory behaviors. The most common methods are purging, which includes self-induced vomiting and the misuse of laxatives. Others may engage in extreme amounts of physical exercise to offset the calories consumed during a binge.
