Cardinal Traits

According to Allport's theory, a cardinal trait is a single, dominant characteristic that shapes a person's entire personality and life. Such traits are rare, as few individuals have a personality defined by one overarching characteristic. Classic examples include Mother Theresa's altruism and Ebenezer Scrooge's greed.
