Case Study of John Nash

John Nash was a brilliant mathematician, Nobel Prize winner, and the subject of the 2001 movie A Beautiful Mind. During his time as a professor at MIT, he began to hear voices, grew suspicious of those around him, and believed the New York Times contained coded messages from extraterrestrial beings meant for him. These experiences led to a diagnosis of schizophrenia and admission to a state-run mental institution.
