Catagories of Microaggressions Faced by Women with disabilities
- Second class citizenship: right to equal access is unreasonable or unjustified
- Denial of personal identity: when someone overemphazises someones disability while activly disregarding other aspects of their identity.
- denial of disability experience: when someone minimizes another persons experience with a disability
- denial of privacy: when someone demands sensitive information or asks invasive personal questions regarding a disability.
- assumption of helplessness: when people assume that PWD need extra help and assistance.
- expectance of praise: when a person expects praise for doing something for a PWD
- infantalization: treating a PWD like a child or that they need to be taken care of
- desexualization: limiting and denying a persons sexuality or value as a romantic partner.
