Cellular and cytokine responses to saRNA LNP SARS-CoV-2 vaccine in Self-amplifying RNA SARS-CoV-2 lipid nanoparticle vaccine candidate induces high neutralizing antibody titers in mice
- Cellular and cytokine responses to saRNA LNP vaccine were also observed. They found that splenocytes of vaccinated mice re-stimulated with SARS-CoV-2 peptides showed a high IFN-γ secretion.
- The study also looked at immune responses related to saRNA LNP vaccine four hours after injection. The group receiving saRNA LNP vaccine demonstrated higher levels of IL-6, MIP-1β, RANTEs, IFN-β and IP-10 (different types of cytokines) in the serum compared to the control group receiving RABV vaccine. This shows that LNP formulation allows immunogenicity of the saRNA.
