When quality is high, this allows for clearer communication of ideas during discussions and integration of course material into the task at hand. This further improves the task cohesion and creates a better outcome in how they perform.

Engagement is one of the ways that cohesion can be measured within an online community. The more behavioral, social, and cognitive engagement there is, the more cohesion there is within the group as well. Engagement can also be thought of as a requirement for cohesion, therefore measuring this is a good indicator of how cohesive a group is/can be.

Collective Task Value involves an individual's perception of the overall group's value of the task. The more similar these perceptions align with one another, the higher the group cohesion is.
