Comparative Aging Effect of Stress on Telomeres

A study comparing mothers under high versus low stress revealed a striking difference in cellular aging. The average telomere length of the most stressed mothers was found to be similar to that of individuals who were 9 to 17 years older on average, quantifying the substantial aging effect of chronic stress.
