Correlations Between Stress, Caregiving Duration, and Telomere Length

A study on mothers of chronically ill children found specific negative correlations between stress indicators and telomere length. The duration of caregiving was correlated with telomere length at r = -0.40, indicating that longer caregiving was associated with shorter telomeres. Furthermore, higher levels of perceived stress were negatively correlated with telomere size (r = -0.31).
