Comparing Preferences in Work-Leisure Choices

Imagine two individuals, Alex and Ben, who face the same hourly wage and have the same number of hours available each day. Alex's optimal choice between consumption and free time occurs at a point where their indifference curve is very steep where it is tangent to their budget line. In contrast, Ben's optimal choice occurs at a point where their indifference curve is relatively flat at the point of tangency. Analyze and compare the preferences of Alex and Ben. What does the shape of their respective indifference curves at their optimal points reveal about their willingness to trade consumption for an additional hour of free time?
