Comparison between Human Memory and a Video Recording
While a video recording is a complete and precise playback of past events, human memory is a reconstructive process. Instead of storing memories as single, unified files, the human brain stores different components of a memory (such as visual elements, smells, and time) in separate locations. When recalling an event, these parts must be put back together, introducing potential errors at each stage, unlike the literal playback of a video recording.
