Comparison of Ensembling Methods for LLMs
Large language models can utilize several ensembling methods to enhance prediction quality and diversity. Standard model ensembling involves multiple different models processing the same prompt to produce combined predictions. Prompt ensembling relies on a single model evaluating multiple distinct prompts. Output ensembling uses one model and one prompt, but samples multiple predictions over the prediction space. These techniques can also be used in tandem—for example, combining prompt and output ensembling—to yield an even more diverse pool of predictions.

A software development team is working to improve the reliability of a code generation feature powered by a single large language model. They want to reduce the chance of the model producing buggy or inefficient code from a user's request. Which of the following strategies is a correct application of the output ensembling technique?
To improve the reliability of a language model, a developer uses a process where multiple potential answers are generated from a single request and then combined. Arrange the core steps of this technique in the correct sequence.
