Comparison of Preferences at Optimal Choices E and F

The diagram illustrates how different preferences lead to different optimal choices along the same budget constraint. The indifference curve tangent at point E is steeper than the one tangent at point F. This difference in slope reveals that the individual choosing E values an additional hour of free time more highly (in terms of consumption they are willing to sacrifice) than the individual choosing F.
