Comparison of Surveys and Case Studies

When compared to case studies, surveys have the distinct advantage of collecting data from much larger samples. A large and diverse sample is more likely to accurately represent the diversity of the overall population, which significantly enhances the generalizability of the research findings. Conversely, the strength of case studies lies in their depth; surveys cannot gather the same level of detailed information on each participant as is possible through an in-depth case study.
