Comparison of Symptoms Across Major Dissociative Disorders

The primary dissociative disorders are differentiated by their core symptoms. Dissociative amnesia is defined by significant memory loss of personal information. Depersonalization/derealization disorder is characterized by persistent feelings of detachment from oneself or one's surroundings. Dissociative identity disorder involves the presence of two or more distinct personality states accompanied by recurrent gaps in memory.
