Computational Efficiency of Soft Prompts

Soft prompts offer a significant advantage in computational efficiency over hard prompts. Because they provide dense, low-dimensional, and learnable representations for guiding Large Language Models, their training and application demand much less computational power than processing lengthy hard prompts. This approach provides substantial practical value during model inference, especially in applications where the same prompt is repeatedly applied.
