• phase 2 results have not been published even though it had concluded at the end of October
• Potentially more expensive
• Adjuvants may be required later on to reignite the immune response
• Because the vaccine uses a protein, it is not necessary to have a high biosafety level in the production facility
• More people could have access to the vaccine
