Concrete Operational Developmental Stage
The concrete operational stage, Piaget's third stage of cognitive development, occurs from approximately 7 to 11 years old. During this period, children begin to think logically about concrete events. They develop a strong understanding of numbers, start using memory strategies, and can perform mathematical operations. Key abilities that emerge include understanding transformations like addition and subtraction as opposites, and mastering the concept of conservation.
