Conditions for Severe Sleep Deprivation Effects

The most pronounced negative effects of sleep deprivation are observed under specific conditions of sleep loss. These include staying awake for more than 24 consecutive hours or experiencing repeated nights with less than four hours of sleep. Such conditions can lead to heightened irritability, distractibility, and impaired cognitive and moral judgment.
