Consecutive Even Integers

Consecutive even integers are even integers that immediately follow one another. Because even numbers are spaced two units apart, each consecutive even integer is obtained by adding 2 to the previous one rather than 1.

If the first even integer is represented by nn, then:

  • nn = 1st consecutive even integer
  • n+2n + 2 = 2nd consecutive even integer
  • n+4n + 4 = 3rd consecutive even integer

This algebraic pattern mirrors the one used for general consecutive integers, except the common difference between successive terms is 2 instead of 1.
