Short Answer

Constraints in Strategic Choice

A farmer is involved in a strategic interaction where the outcome depends on both their own choice and a neighbor's choice. The farmer's preferences for all four possible outcomes can be mapped using a standard set of indifference curves. Explain what limits the farmer's ability to simply choose the outcome on their highest indifference curve, and how their indifference curves are still useful for making a decision.
