Discrete Data is data that is countable in a finite amount of time an example is the amount of change in your pocket because all of it can be counted in a reasonable amount of time. Continuous data cannot be counted in a finite amount of time. An example is how old you are because you can go from Years -> Months -> Days -> Hours -> ...... and so on and you would never stop counting. Certain methods can turn Continuous Data to Discrete data such as Binning. 


Discrete vs. Continuous Data

Continuous data, unlike Discrete data, is not countable, and is infinite. They can be any value within a range. Continuous data is measured and can be divided infinitely.
