Contrasting Emotional Expressions

An example of emotional expression can be seen in two photographs of the same toddler. In photograph (a), the toddler is laughing, a nonverbal expression of happiness or joy. In photograph (b), the toddler is crying, a nonverbal expression of sadness or distress. These contrasting expressions demonstrate how emotions are displayed outwardly through behavior.
