Countries Without a National Currency

Countries without a national currency fall into two main categories. The first joins a monetary union with a shared currency, like the eurozone. The second unilaterally adopts a foreign currency. Examples of the latter include countries that have 'dollarized' by adopting the U.S. dollar, and several European microstates (Andorra, Monaco, San Marino, and the Vatican City) that use the euro despite not being official members of the eurozone.
