Covid-19 and Medical Students
Though many graduate students are experiencing increased difficulties with completing their education due to Covid-19, medical students are especially affected when it comes to the problems they are faced with during the pandemic. Educational areas that medical students expect to be negatively impacted due to Covid-19 include:
- Clinical experience
- Research experience
- Finding faculty mentors
- Cancelation of sub-internships
- Acquisition of surgical skills
- Performance on board examinations
- Conferences/networking opportunities
- Residency applications
With concern about all these educational aspects, it is therefore very important that academic institutions adopt new online educational programing to help medical students continue to make successful progress in their education.
