Case Study

Critique of an Experimental Study on Generosity

A researcher conducts a study to measure generosity. Participants are asked how they would divide 100 'experimental dollars' (which have no real cash value) between themselves and an anonymous partner. The results show that 90% of participants choose to split the money evenly. The researcher concludes that people are inherently altruistic and fair-minded. Critique the validity of this conclusion based on the methodology used.
