Cross-Cultural Employee Retention Strategy
A management consultant is advising a global firm on reducing employee turnover. In the United States office, departing employees often say, 'I loved the company culture, but my specific job wasn't a good use of my skills.' In the Indian office, departing employees often say, 'I was great at my job, but I just didn't feel like I belonged to the company community.' Based on these statements, propose one specific, distinct retention strategy for the Indian office and explain why it would be more effective there than in the United States office.
