Cultural Differences in the Interpretation of Eye Contact

The meaning of direct eye contact is not universal and is heavily influenced by culture. Conversely, in most Latin-American, Asian, and African cultures, direct eye contact is often interpreted as rude, confrontational, or aggressive.
