30-day Morality Rate of COVID-19 Patients Undergoing Surgery

- Pulmonary complications were predictive of 30-day mortality. 51.2% of patients experienced pulmonary complications is was significantly higher than the estimated baseline of 10% prior to the pandemic.

- 30-day mortality was also significantly greater in those experiencing pulmonary complications than those that didn’t not experience complications at 38.0% and 8.7%, respectively. 

- 30-day morality of those experiencing acute distress syndrome, pneumonia, or unexpected postoperative ventilation were 63.0%, 37.9%, and 41.7%, respectively.
