Deliverance from the Earthly Veil and the Comprehension of Essence in Attar's Mokhtar Nameh (Chapter 6, Poem 80)

In Poem 80 (Chapter 6) of the Mokhtar Nameh, Attar describes the process of spiritual liberation and cognitive transcendence. The mystic's deep sorrow and earthly detachment ('sitting upon the dust') serve as the catalyst for freeing the soul from the material body ('earthly veil'). Through purification and the soul's detachment, the mystic transcends physical limitations to attain a direct, non-rational comprehension of 'how-ness' (chuni)—the quality or essence of divine and absolute existence.
