Dependence of Job Search Duration (τ) on the Unemployment Rate (u)

In the economy-wide wage-setting model, the expected duration of unemployment, represented by tau (τ\tau), is treated as a function of the overall unemployment rate (uu). This relationship, denoted as τ(u)\tau(u), captures the economic reality that when unemployment is high, it becomes more difficult and time-consuming for a worker to find a new job.
