Determinants of Home Value

A home's value is determined by a combination of factors. Some are within the owner's control, such as the property's physical characteristics (e.g., size, condition, amenities) and maintenance efforts. Owners can also positively influence value by contributing to the quality of the surrounding neighborhood, for instance, by supporting local schools. Other factors, like the property's location, are inherent to the dwelling.
