Cognitive Schemas are mental structures that filter, code, and interpret external and internal stimuli. They manifest as habitual patterns of thinking about oneself, others, the world, or one's relationship with others and the environment.

These cognitive schemas help organize information and often have a top-down influence on perceptions. Nevertheless, maladaptive/negative cognitive schemas often adversely impact mental well-being.

LH Theory refers to whether one is focused on present mating with multiple partners and less parental effort, known as a fast LH strategy, or focused on future mating in a long-term relationship and more parental effort, known as a slow LH strategy.

Shame is feeling inferior. It can result from interactions. This can affect emotions, which influence behavior and can cause symptoms, either internal or external.
