Discussion Regarding Hospitalization of Patients with Asthma and COVID-19
- Through analyzing the data by adjusting for baseline age, sex, and race, it was found that asthma and COVID-19 comorbid patients were not at increased risk of hospitalization
- This was analysis was furthered by tailoring to other patient factors, such as smoking or other comorbidities and it was still found that there was no increased risk for hospitalization
- It was found that regardless of asthmatic status or data constraints, Hispanics offered a higher hospitalization rate than other races
