Distinguishing Exceptional Intelligence from Normal Development

A key challenge in assessing intelligence is differentiating between abilities that signify exceptional cognitive capacity and those that are part of a normal, albeit potentially advanced, developmental trajectory. For instance, a child's early reading ability could be interpreted as a sign of high intelligence or simply as a normal phase of linguistic development.
