Drafting Clear Exclusions for Electrical Proposals

  1. Describe every excluded item in customer-friendly language so the client can understand what is not included.
  2. Put the exclusions directly on the proposal or estimate, rather than hiding them in attached legal terms.
  3. If the client later requests an excluded task, document it as a separate priced line item or a change order.
  4. Review and update the exclusion list whenever you add a new electrical service, because new offerings can reveal missing assumptions.
