[DSM-5-TR] Types of Substance-Related Disorders

The DSM-5-TR first explains the different types of Substance-Related Disorders that exist independent of any specific substance. These disorders explain the general diagnostic criteria and features that can be applied to all the other specific substance-related disorders listed later in the chapter. These general disorder types are:

  • Substance Use Disorder
  • Substance Intoxication
  • Substance Withdrawal
  • Substance-Induced Mental Disorder
