Effect of Fiscal Expansion at Full Capacity Utilization

When an economy operates at full capacity utilization with very low unemployment, its ability to increase production is severely limited. Consequently, an increase in government spending does not lead to a rise in total output but instead displaces an equivalent amount of private spending through crowding out.
