Effect of Individual Anonymity on Social Loafing

Social loafing is more likely when an individual's performance within a group cannot be evaluated separately. This anonymity reduces performance pressure, leading to less anxiety and physiological arousal, which fosters a relaxed state conducive to reduced effort.
