Effect of Nominal Depreciation on Import Prices

When a country's nominal exchange rate (e), defined as units of home currency per unit of foreign currency, increases, it signifies a depreciation of the home currency. A direct consequence for residents of the home country is that the price of imported goods, or any items priced in the foreign currency, rises when measured in the domestic currency.
