Effects of Stigma on Students with ADHD

Many students with ADHD choose not to disclose their condition to peers due to awkward solicitations, such as being pressured to share or sell their prescription medications like Adderall. They also fear being labeled as academically “weaker” or facing negative stereotypes associated with learning disorders. This stigma can lead to isolation and discourage students from seeking the support they need, ultimately affecting their academic and social well-being.
