Off-label PCE Use Contribution to Stigma

When healthy individuals misuse PCEs, it contributes to a growing stigma that makes it harder for people with genuine ADHD to be diagnosed and properly treated. As ADHD medications become more widespread, medical professionals may grow more skeptical of those seeking legitimate prescriptions. This climate of suspicion can lead to delayed diagnoses, more invasive screening, and a general mistrust of patients’ self-reports. This means facing not only the challenges of their condition but also the burden of having to prove their authenticity.
