Disparities Among Who Uses PCEs
PCE use is significantly more prevalent among white students—three times higher than among Black and Latino peers—and men are twice as likely to report using them as women. Higher PCE use is also associated with students from higher socioeconomic backgrounds, those in Greek life, with access to mental health care, and those attending more selective universities, highlighting how privilege and institutional context shape access to and normalization of cognitive enhancers.
